Privacy Policy
MacroStack ("we," "us") is a nutrition tracking and coaching platform available at getmacrostack.com and through our mobile apps. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it. The short version: your data exists to run your account, we don't sell it, and you can delete it whenever you want.
What We Collect
- Account information — your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash; we never see the plain text).
- Nutrition and health data you enter — food logs, calorie and macro targets, body-weight entries, progress photos, and check-in answers. This is the core of the product and is only collected when you enter it.
- Messages — conversations between you and your coach, and with our AI assistant.
- Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never receive or store your card number; we only see your subscription status.
- Technical data — basic device and error diagnostics so we can fix crashes and keep the service reliable.
How We Use It
- To run your account: showing your logs, trends, targets, and history across your devices.
- To power coaching: if you link with a coach, that coach can see your food logs, weight entries, progress photos, check-ins, and messages so they can actually coach you. Unlinking from a coach ends their access to new data.
- To power AI features: meal-plan generation and assistant chat send the relevant content to Anthropic (our AI provider) for processing. It is used to generate your response, not to train AI models.
- To send service email — things like coach messages, check-in reminders, and account notices. You can adjust notifications in the app.
- Barcode scans you add are contributed to the shared food database as nutrition facts only — the food's name, brand, and macros. No personal information is attached or visible to anyone.
What We Don't Do
- We do not sell your personal data. Ever.
- We do not show ads or share your data with ad networks.
- We do not share your health data with anyone except the coach you explicitly link with.
Storage & Security
Your data is stored with Supabase on infrastructure hosted in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is controlled by row-level security — each account can only read its own data (plus a linked coach's permitted view). Payments run through Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified processor.
Data Retention & Deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account from the app, or email us and we'll delete it for you — either way, your personal data, logs, photos, and messages are removed from our systems. Anonymous nutrition facts contributed to the shared food database (name, brand, macros of a scanned food) remain, since they contain nothing personal.
Children
MacroStack is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Not Medical Advice
MacroStack provides nutrition tracking tools and connects you with independent coaches. Nothing in the app is medical advice. Consult a physician before starting any diet program, especially if you have a medical condition.
Changes
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top and notify you in the app or by email. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
